Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Lead AI Research Scientist specializing in Computer Vision.

This hybrid role requires a candidate who can work collaboratively from our Gombe, Gombe, NG office periodically, while also benefiting from remote work flexibility.

You will lead a team of talented researchers in pushing the boundaries of computer vision technology, developing novel algorithms, and creating state-of-the-art AI solutions.

Your expertise will be crucial in areas such as image recognition, object detection, segmentation, and generative models.

The ideal candidate will have a strong publication record, significant experience in applied AI research, and a passion for tackling complex visual intelligence challenges.

Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of AI research scientists focused on computer vision.

Define and drive the research roadmap for computer vision projects, aligning with strategic business objectives.

Conduct cutting-edge research in areas such as deep learning for computer vision, image processing, 3D vision, and video analysis.

Develop, implement, and validate novel computer vision algorithms and models.

Collaborate with engineering teams to translate research prototypes into production-ready AI systems.

Publish research findings in top-tier academic conferences and journals.

Stay abreast of the latest advancements and trends in computer vision and AI.

Evaluate and benchmark new algorithms and technologies.

Contribute to intellectual property development and patent filings.

Present research progress and findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Foster a culture of innovation, scientific rigor, and collaboration within the research team. Manage project timelines and resources effectively.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in Computer Vision or Machine Learning. 8+ years of research experience in computer vision, with a strong publication record in venues like CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, etc.

Demonstrated experience in leading research projects and mentoring scientists.

Expertise in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.

Proficiency in programming languages like Python, C++.

Solid understanding of image processing, pattern recognition, and machine learning fundamentals.

Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed training is highly desirable.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

Strong communication and presentation abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing remote and in-office collaboration.
