The autoregressive transformer operates on a cubed-sphere grid at approximately five-kilometer spacing. It advances the state in ten-minute steps and predicts weather variables on 24 vertical levels alongside near-surface quantities.
Atmospheric researchers can use the checkpoints and training code to study how learned forecasts compare with the underlying simulation. The release exposes the grid, state variables and evaluation setup needed to reproduce research experiments and inspect forecasts.
