The Senior Solutions Architect will work within Abbott’s Digital Products and Services group providing critical thought leadership and direction to push the limits of technology design and innovation across Abbott’s global businesses. Responsibilities include designing and implementing cutting edge technology solutions, mentoring engineers, acting as an evangelist in technology architectures and ways of working, focusing on AI, Microservices, API, Data and Cloud Computing technology products and services.

The role involves serving as a catalyst for innovation, acting as a technology lead from ideation to production, rapidly building prototypes, collaborating with engineers and architects to establish best practices, working across product teams to architect next-generation platforms, providing technical leadership and mentoring, developing multi-year product roadmaps, leading tool and technology selection, and driving standardization and reuse of technology. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred), 10+ years of software engineering experience, experience building high performance and scalable server-side applications, technical leadership skills, advanced knowledge in AI/GenAI, mobile/web frameworks, multi cloud, security and privacy, event streaming, distributed system design, microservices, strong communication skills, high standards for quality, and a self-starter enthusiastic personality.

Preferred qualifications include experience in fast-paced environments, implementing large scale AI/GenAI use cases in production, fostering innovative thinking, and a background in development and design. This is an onsite role located in Illinois and is not remote.
