As a Lead AI Researcher for Conversational Systems at Amazon, you will be responsible for inventing and building scalable solutions for state-of-the-art context-aware conversational AI. You will leverage your technical expertise and experience to collaborate with other talented applied scientists and engineers. Your work will directly impact our customers in the form of novel products and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques to reduce friction and enable natural and contextual conversations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate LLM technologies into various Amazon services.

• Analyze, understand, and improve user experiences by leveraging Amazon's heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources.

• Work on core LLM technologies, including Prompt Engineering and Optimization, Supervised Fine-Tuning, Learning from Human Feedback, Evaluation, Self-Learning, etc.

We are looking for a passionate, talented, and resourceful Applied Scientist in the field of LLM, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Recommender Systems, and/or Information Retrieval.

The ideal candidate would have a strong machine learning background, hands-on experience in building Generative AI solutions with LLMs, and enjoy operating in dynamic environments.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's degree and 2+ years of building machine learning models for business applications experience.

• Experience in CS, CE, ML, or related field research.

• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related languages.

• 3+ years' experience with modeling languages and tools like PyTorch, TensorFlow, R, scikit-learn, numpy, scipy, etc.
