Design & Event Marketing Intern

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Canva (required)

• Strong visual design sense: you understand layout, typography, and color

• Ability to attend in-person events in Austin for photography (camera or smartphone is fine)

• Organized and able to manage multiple design requests with quick turnaround

• Interest in AI, technology, or nonprofit work (you do not need to be technical)

• Bonus: experience with short-form video editing, or presentation design

• Must submit at least one design sample to be considered

• Experience across print, digital, social, and event marketing design

Responsibilities

• We are looking for a Design & Event Marketing Intern to create visual assets that make our events, programs, and brand stand out

• You will design everything from event flyers and social media graphics to hackathon branding and partner-facing materials

• You will also support event marketing by creating promotional campaigns and capturing event moments through photography

• Design event flyers, banners, and promotional graphics for workshops, AI After Hours, hackathons, and speaker panels

• Create social media ad creatives for event promotion (both organic and paid)

• Develop hackathon branding: logo, signage, social graphics, participant materials

• Attend in-person events in Austin for photography and visual documentation

• Create post-event visual recaps (photo compilations, highlight graphics, result summaries)

• Design partner-facing materials: impact cards, sponsorship one-pagers, presentation slides

• Maintain brand consistency across all visual outputs using Austin AI Hub's color palette and style

■ About Austin AI Hub

Austin AI Hub is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit AI community in Austin, Texas, with 500+ members.

We make AI education accessible to everyone through free workshops, mentorship, networking events, and AI-for-social-good projects.

Founded in 2025, we serve software engineers, educators, healthcare professionals, students, small business owners, and career changers. From hackathon branding to event flyers, our visual identity is evolving and you will help define it.

■ About the Role
