Research Theme

Privacy-Preserving Federated Soft Biometrics for Real-Time Covert Urban Surveillance

This cutting-edge research aims to develop intelligent, privacy-preserving surveillance systems capable of understanding human attributes and behaviors using non-intrusive soft biometric traits such as gait, clothing, posture, activity patterns, and crowd dynamics. The project integrates Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Federated Learning, Edge Computing, Big Data Analytics, Incremental & Distributed Learning, and Human-Centric AI to address real-world challenges in smart cities, urban security, and responsible AI deployment.

International Collaboration

The selected fellow will work with researchers from London Metropolitan University, UK, including Dr. Bilal Hassan (Senior Lecturer AI & Computer Vision), gaining exposure to international research, collaborative publications, and global academic networks.
