Senior AWS Application Developer – AI Platform

We’re looking for a hands-on senior application developer to help build a new AI-enabled development platform for a major financial services organisation.

The platform will help engineering teams take applications from idea to production, with reusable development patterns, automation and governance built into the process.

This is a build role: you’ll write code, shape how the platform works and create tools that other developers will use.

What you’ll do

• Build AWS-based services, APIs, developer tools and integrations.
• Create reusable starting points and patterns for teams building cloud-native and AI-enabled applications.
• Develop automated checks for security, operational readiness and governance.
• Improve developer workflows using CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, testing and observability.
• Work with application, cloud and security teams to turn practical requirements into working software.

What we’re looking for

Your strongest experience should be in application development on AWS.

You’ll be comfortable working on a shared platform, but your starting point should be building applications and services rather than managing infrastructure alone.

You’ll bring:

• Strong software engineering and AWS application development experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS serverless services, such as Lambda, API Gateway and Step Functions.
• Experience designing APIs and automating software delivery through CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
• Good engineering habits around testing, documentation, observability and security.
• Practical experience using AI coding tools in your day-to-day engineering work.
• An understanding of agentic applications, AI guardrails and governance.

Experience with Amazon Bedrock and AgentCore would be particularly valuable.

We’re also interested in strong AWS application developers who can show meaningful hands-on work with generative AI or agents, even if they haven’t worked with every part of this stack.

Python, TypeScript, GitHub Actions, developer platforms and experience modernising legacy applications for the cloud would all be useful.

Financial services or another regulated environment would be an advantage.

Pay: £800.00-£1,000.00 per day
