Managing Director Level | Global Multi-Strat Trading Environment

A global multi-strat trading organisation is seeking a Head of AI & Cloud (group strategy) to lead the next phase of its technology evolution. Operating at Managing Director level (bank equiv), this role blends executive leadership with deep technical authority across cloud engineering, advanced data platforms, a...nd applied AI.

This is not a pure strategy role and not a traditional infrastructure leadership position.

You will be responsible for shaping how modern cloud architecture and AI capabilities are embedded into a fast-moving trading ecosystem where technology directly drives performance.

The Opportunity

You will define and execute the long-term vision for AI and cloud across a complex, high-performance trading landscape spanning multiple strategies and asset classes.

Working closely with senior trading leadership and executive stakeholders, you will ensure that innovation translates into scalable, production-ready platforms that deliver real commercial value.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead global strategy for AI, machine learning, and cloud platforms across trading, data, and risk environments

• Drive large scale cloud transformation across GCP, Azure, AWS, or hybrid ecosystems

• Establish engineering and architecture standards across distributed systems, data platforms, and platform reliability

• Embed AI into real trading workflows including automation, optimisation, and decision intelligence and be at the cutting edge of how the space is evolving and what this could mean for an elite trading outfid who are nascent on the cloud journey

• Partner with senior business leaders to align technology investment with trading performance

• Build and mentor senior engineering and architecture leadership teams globally

What You Bring

• Proven leadership experience operating at senior or executive level within complex technology and trading organisations

• Deep technical credibility across cloud engineering, distributed systems, and modern data platforms

• Strong understanding of applied AI and machine learning in production environments

• Experience within multi-strat trading, hedge funds, commodities trading, or similar performance-driven environments is highly valuable
