Are you a college student with a curiosity for AI tools and a knack for making processes work better?

GLX Technologies is looking for a motivated intern to help us identify, design, and implement AI-enabled workflows across our business operations.

This is a hands-on role - you won't just research trends, you'll build things that people here actually use.

You'll work closely with our executive team to find where AI can save time, reduce friction, and improve quality.

Functions and Responsibilities:

• Audit prioritized internal workflows across departments (financial, administrative, operational, project management, engineering, estimating, client communication) to identify opportunities for AI-assisted automation.

• Research, evaluate, and deploy AI tools suited to specific workflow needs - including Claude Cowork for desktop-based task automation, and integration platforms such as n8n, Make, or Zapier for cross-system workflows.

• Configure and pilot Claude Cowork for non-technical staff by setting up folder access, global instructions, scheduled tasks, and role-specific plugins.

• Build lightweight automations that connect internal tools and AI APIs when Cowork alone doesn't cover the full workflow.

• Develop clear documentation and simple training materials so staff can adopt and sustain the tools you build.

• Present findings and recommendations to team leads, with practical demonstrations of working prototypes.

• Assist in evaluating output quality and identifying where human review remains essential - especially in regulated or safety-adjacent contexts.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field

• Familiarity with AI/LLM tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar) in a practical or academic context

• Some experience with workflow automation platforms, scripting (Python or JavaScript), or API integrations - formal or self-taught

• Strong problem-solving instincts and a process-oriented mindset

• Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues

• Self-directed and comfortable working with ambiguity in a small-company environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with Claude Cowork, Claude Code, or similar agentic AI tools

• Exposure to industrial, engineering, or field-services business environments

• Experience with document automation, data pipelines, or integration platforms

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or Teams as an integration target
