About The Role

The Healthcare Administrator manages the operational infrastructure behind healthcare delivery, including provider workflows, patient-access processes, payer requirements, and regulatory controls.

The role connects clinical, technical, finance, and customer operations teams to keep services accurate, compliant, and efficient.

You will use healthcare information systems, workflow tools, and operational reporting to improve throughput, reduce administrative errors, and maintain reliable service across a distributed healthcare environment. The role is based remotely in Los Angeles, CA and requires strong working knowledge of US healthcare operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day administrative workflows across scheduling, referrals, prior authorization, eligibility verification, claims coordination, and provider support
  • Configure and maintain operational processes in healthcare platforms, CRM systems, ticketing tools, and electronic health record or practice-management systems
  • Monitor KPIs including appointment access, authorization turnaround time, claim error rates, service-level compliance, and patient issue resolution
  • Develop standard operating procedures, audit controls, training materials, and escalation paths for healthcare operations teams
  • Coordinate with compliance, billing, clinical operations, product, and engineering teams to resolve workflow defects and implement process improvements
  • Analyze operational data using Excel, SQL-based reporting, dashboards, or BI tools to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
  • Manage external payer, vendor, and healthcare partner communications while documenting decisions, risks, and remediation plans

What We Are Looking For

  • 3-8 years of experience in healthcare administration, healthcare operations, practice management, payer operations, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of US healthcare workflows, including eligibility, referrals, prior authorization, claims, HIPAA, and payer-provider requirements
  • Experience with EHR, practice-management, CRM, ticketing, or workforce-management systems; familiarity with integrations and structured healthcare data is preferred
  • Strong analytical and process-improvement skills, with hands-on proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and experience building operational reports or dashboards
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects, document workflows, and deliver measurable improvements in accuracy, turnaround time, or service quality
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business operations, public health, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Bonus: Experience with SQL, Tableau or Looker, HL7/FHIR workflows, revenue-cycle operations, Lean or Six Sigma methods, and healthcare compliance certifications
