AI Innovation Engineer – Banking Transformation

The Role

Drive the bank’s AI adoption initiative by identifying high-value opportunities in customer service, risk management, fraud detection, operations, compliance, and other areas

Work closely with business units to understand needs, define AI use cases, and translate business problems into technical solutions

Rapidly design, develop, and demonstrate proof-of-concept (PoC) solutions to validat...e feasibility and show business value

Evaluate and recommend the best AI models (ML, deep learning, LLMs, generative AI, etc.) and vendors/platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, local/international providers, etc.) based on performance, cost, security, scalability, and regulatory compliance

Build, train, deploy, and monitor production-grade AI models using Python and modern frameworks

Perform data preparation, feature engineering, model optimization, and implement MLOps practices (monitoring, drift detection, retraining)

Integrate AI solutions with core banking, CRM, and other existing systems

Ensure all AI work complies with Hong Kong and Mainland China regulations (PDPO, Cybersecurity Law, etc.) and ethical AI standards

Stay current with AI trends and share knowledge internally through workshops or documentation

Requirements

4+ years of hands‑on AI/ML engineering experience with proven delivery of PoCs and production solutions (banking/fintech experience preferred)

Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.); experience with LLMs and generative AI is a plus

Demonstrated ability to evaluate, compare, and select AI models and vendors with clear, evidence‑based recommendations

Experience working directly with business stakeholders to define and refine AI use cases and requirements

Familiarity with cloud AI platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and MLOps tools

Solid understanding of data handling, SQL, and big data concepts

Excellent communication skills — able to explain complex AI concepts to non‑technical business audiences

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Engineering, or related field

Fluency in English and Mandarin (Cantonese is an advantage)
