Machine Learning Engineer - Geospatial Data

Lumicity

New York, NY

Full-time
$250K–$280K

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in geospatial ML, satellite imagery, and spatial data modeling
  • Deep fluency in coordinate systems, map projections, and CRS standards
  • A track record of deploying models to edge devices (e.g., using CUDA, ONNX, or TensorRT)
  • Bonus points for background in drones, embedded C++/Rust, or probabilistic filtering
  • If you've shipped geospatial ML systems or worked in GIS, remote sensing, or navigation AI—and you thrive in fast-paced, high-ownership environments—we'd love to talk

Responsibilities

  • This role is core to how we ingest and fuse map data, satellite imagery, and RF signals to enable real-time decision-making across distributed systems
  • You'll own the geospatial ML stack—from map-centric data collection and cleaning to building deployable models that run on resource-constrained hardware like drones and edge devices
  • The challenges are complex: precise, reliable localization on lightweight hardware, across dynamic and distributed environments

Full Description

We're seeking a Geospatial Machine Learning Engineer to help develop cutting-edge localization models for a sensor-to-insight pipeline running at the edge. This role is core to how we ingest and fuse map data, satellite imagery, and RF signals to enable real-time decision-making across distributed systems.

You'll own the geospatial ML stack—from map-centric data collection and cleaning to building deployable models that run on resource-constrained hardware like drones and edge devices. The challenges are complex: precise, reliable localization on lightweight hardware, across dynamic and distributed environments.

We're looking for someone with:

• Strong experience in geospatial ML, satellite imagery, and spatial data modeling

• Deep fluency in coordinate systems, map projections, and CRS standards

• A track record of deploying models to edge devices (e.g., using CUDA, ONNX, or TensorRT)

• Bonus points for background in drones, embedded C++/Rust, or probabilistic filtering

If you've shipped geospatial ML systems or worked in GIS, remote sensing, or navigation AI—and you thrive in fast-paced, high-ownership environments—we'd love to talk.
