This is a hands-on role that collaborates with grid operations, energy trading, product, ML/MLOps and field engineering teams to turn telemetry and market signals into reliable, auditable automated responses.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain demand response algorithms, load/DER forecasting models and event-detection pipelines using time-series and ML techniques.

• Design optimization and control strategies (rule-based, MPC, RL or hybrid approaches) to schedule batteries, UPS, EV chargers, and curtailable loads for grid services.

• Integrate telemetry from meters, SCADA/RTU, IoT devices and market feeds; build robust ingestion and feature pipelines for real-time and batch use.

• Simulate DR events and grid scenarios to evaluate reliability, economic benefit, and impact on asset health; quantify performance vs baselines.

• Implement and validate constraints (safety, battery state-of-charge, warranty limits, site SLAs) and produce gate criteria for automated dispatch.

• Work with MLOps/DevOps to productionize models: monitoring, drift detection, retraining schedules, model versioning and rollout procedures.

• Create KPIs, dashboards and automated reports to track event performance, revenue, grid impact and compliance.
