What's unique about this job (What you’ll do)

The Vice President, Data & AI will lead the enterprise Data & AI organization, defining and executing the company's data strategy while enabling business growth through trusted data, advanced analytics and Artificial Intelligence.

This executive will build a modern, scalable and business-driven data organization responsible for transforming enterprise data into strategic insights, improving decision-making across the business, and accelerating AI adoption.

The role partners closely with Product Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure and Technology Business Operations to ensure data becomes a competitive business capability rather than simply a reporting function.

Enterprise Data Strategy

• Define and execute the enterprise Data & AI strategy aligned with business priorities.

• Develop the multi-year roadmap for enterprise data capabilities.

• Drive adoption of modern data platforms and cloud-native technologies.

• Establish data as a strategic business asset across the organization.

Data Engineering & Platforms

• Build scalable, reliable and secure data platforms.

• Ensure enterprise-wide availability, quality and performance of data assets.

• Modernize data architecture and integration capabilities.

Analytics & Business Intelligence

• Deliver enterprise reporting, dashboards and self-service analytics.

• Enable business leaders with trusted insights for strategic decision making.

• Increase adoption of analytics across all business functions.

• Establish common KPIs and enterprise metrics.

Data Governance

• Define enterprise data governance policies and standards.

• Establish data ownership across business capabilities.

• Improve data quality, lineage, cataloging and metadata management.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and security requirements.

Artificial Intelligence

• Define the enterprise AI strategy.

• Identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases.

• Lead AI Enablement capabilities supporting all technology domains.

• Promote responsible, secure and scalable AI adoption.

Executive Leadership

• Build and develop a high-performing Data & AI leadership team.

• Influence enterprise investment decisions related to data and AI.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and accountability.

Leadership Responsibilities

• Define Data & AI vision and strategy for IT.

• Lead IT transformation initiatives.

• Develop executive level talent.

• Build cross-functional partnerships.

• Drive organizational performance through measurable outcomes.

• Champion innovation and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science or a related technical discipline required.

• (preferred) master’s degree in business administration (MBA), Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related field strongly preferred.

• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience across Information Technology, Data, Analytics or Digital organizations, including 10+ years leading enterprise Data, Analytics or AI organizations.

• 7+ years leading Directors, Senior Managers and multi-disciplinary technology organizations within large, global or multi-country enterprises.

• Demonstrated executive leadership experience reporting directly to a CIO, CTO, Chief Digital Officer or equivalent executive leadership position.

• Proven experience leading enterprise-wide organizational transformation initiatives involving Data, Analytics, AI or Technology modernization.

• Certifications in Data Software are highly preferred (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)

• Certifications in AI Software are highly preferred (Azure, Open AI, Anthropic Claude, etc.)

Required Experience

The ideal candidate should demonstrate executive leadership experience in:

• Experience building and transforming enterprise Data & AI capabilities from strategy through execution is strongly preferred

• Defining and executing enterprise Data & AI strategies aligned with business objectives.

• Building and scaling modern Data Engineering, Analytics and AI organizations.

• Leading cloud data platform modernization and enterprise data transformation initiatives.

• Establishing enterprise Data Governance, Data Quality and Master Data Management practices.

• Driving AI adoption, advanced analytics and data-driven decision making across the business.

• Leading organizational transformation, executive stakeholder engagement and strategic technology investments.

• Building and developing high-performing leadership teams within complex, global organizations.

• Candidates will be highly competitive if they have experience leading Data & AI organizations within:

• Retail, Wholesale or Consumer Goods (CPG)

• Omnichannel Commerce

• Supply Chain & Distribution

• Membership-based business models

• Global, multi-country organizations
