AI Feedback Specialist - English Speaker (Remote)

About the Opportunity

• Join Outlier as we seek skilled, detail-oriented English speakers to assist in training generative AI voice, image, and video models.
• This freelance role is fully remote with flexible hours, allowing you to work whenever suits you best.

Your Contributions Will Include

• Engaging in live, scenario-based conversations in English with AI voice models and evaluating how natural, useful, and clear each interaction is.
• Comparing AI-generated images and videos to determine which version more accurately follows the provided prompt.
• Conducting detailed inspections of outputs, including close-ups and replays, to identify issues such as distorted anatomy, unnatural movements, text errors, or mismatched audio.
• Rating each output based on criteria like adherence, quality, and realism, and providing a clear, concise written explanation in English outlining your observations.

Desirable Expertise

• Fluency in English, with strong, effective written communication skills and comfort in engaging in natural, everyday conversations.
• A Bachelor's degree or higher (currently pursuing or completed).
• Meticulous attention to detail, enabling you to observe closely and replay when discrepancies arise.
• Ability to think on your feet and navigate realistic scenarios in a conversational manner.
• Experience in writing brief, evidence-based explanations or reviews.
• Confidence in making decisions even when presented with options that have shortcomings.

Requirements

• A computer with a stable internet connection and headphones.
• A quiet environment for conducting live conversations.
• All ratings and written explanations must be your original work; please refrain from using AI tools.
• Commencing work entails a brief screening and onboarding process, which may include a spoken English proficiency check.

Compensation

• Core Project Work: Earn up to USD $18 per hour.
• Additional Incentives: On average, contributors gain an extra 7.5% on top of core project rates through Missions—similar to surge pricing. The top quartile of contributors increase their earnings by an average of 11%.
• Rates vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, project requirements, and additional factors.

Higher rates may be available for PhD holders.

Please note that lower rates may apply for non-core tasks, such as onboarding or project overtime. Additional incentive information is based on past payments and updated quarterly.
