Fellowship Research Theme

Privacy-Preserving Federated Soft Biometrics for Real-Time Covert Urban Surveillance

This research aims to develop next-generation privacy-preserving intelligent surveillance systems capable of understanding human attributes and behaviours using non-intrusive soft biometric traits such as gait, clothing, posture, activity patterns, and crowd dynamics.

The project integrates Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Federated Learning, Edge Computing, Big Data Analytics, Incremental & Distributed Learning, and Human-Centric AI to address real-world challenges in smart cities, urban security, and responsible AI.

International Research Collaboration

The selected fellow will work in collaboration with researchers from London Metropolitan University, United Kingdom, including Dr.

Bilal Hassan (Senior Lecturer AI & Computer Vision), providing opportunities for international research collaboration, joint publications, global academic networking, and potential research visits.

Fellowship Benefits

Eligibility

Regular PhD

  • Minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00

Fully Funded Fellowship

  • Minimum CGPA 3.50/4.00

Applicants should hold an MS/MPhil (or equivalent) in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cyber Security, Information Security, or a closely related discipline.

Candidates with strong backgrounds in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Mathematics, Optimization, Computer Vision, and Python-based AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras) are especially encouraged to apply.
