Our client, a fast-paced AI startup at the forefront of natural language processing (NLP), is seeking a talented Senior AI Research Engineer to join their innovative team in Ibadan, Oyo, NG .

This role is ideal for a candidate passionate about developing and deploying state-of-the-art NLP models that power intelligent applications.

You will be instrumental in pushing the boundaries of AI research,contributing to both theoretical advancements and practical implementation.

Key responsibilities include:

Research, design, and implement advanced NLP algorithms and models, including deep learning architectures (e.g., Transformers, LSTMs).

Develop and optimize models for tasks such as text classification, sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, machine translation, and question answering.

Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to integrate NLP models into production systems.

Process and analyze large-scale text datasets, ensuring data quality and relevance for model training.

Stay current with the latest research and advancements in NLP and machine learning, identifying opportunities for innovation.

Conduct experiments, evaluate model performance, and iterate on designs to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Contribute to the development of robust and scalable AI solutions.

Publish research findings in leading AI conferences and journals.

Mentor junior researchers and engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation. Work closely with product teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Qualifications:

Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in AI research and development, with a strong focus on Natural Language Processing.

Proven experience in implementing and fine-tuning large language models (LLMs).

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.

Strong understanding of machine learning principles, algorithms, and evaluation metrics.

Experience with data preprocessing techniques for text data.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle complex, open-ended research challenges.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
