• 2-8 years total experience, ideally including time as a founding engineer or very early startup hire
• Strong engineering background with TypeScript or adjacent technologies
• Experience working with LLMs, AI agents, or conversational systems
• Clear communicator with the ability to own and deliver features end-to-end
• Bonus: Prior experience in healthcare tech or familiarity with EHR systems / FHIR APIs
• Voice AI or speech-related experience is a strong plus

Founding Applied AI Engineer | YC-Backed AI Startup | Menlo Park (Hybrid)

I'm working with a YC-backed startup based in Menlo Park that’s building AI-powered agents to automate healthcare workflows.

The company recently raised funding at a $20M valuation and is entering a major growth phase. They’ve already brought on a PhD AI Engineer and are now looking to hire a second technical founding teammember to own application-layer development and help scale the product across new clinical partners.

This is an opportunity to get in early and make a significant impact at a high-growth, mission-driven company solving real-world problems in healthcare.

The Role

You’ll be building core systems and user-facing features from day one. Projects include:

• AI intake agents tailored for healthcare

• Conversational agents

• EHR integration layers (FHIR APIs)

• Onboarding automation tools
