IT Compliance Manager

James Adams is looking for an experienced IT Compliance Team Leader to join our clients growing risk and governance function.

Salary: Up to £65,000 dependant on experience

Location: Northampton 2 days onsite 3 days from home

This is a great opportunity to take ownership of key compliance activities across the business, supporting both internal teams and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of compliance programmes, oversee annual assessments, respond to client audits and ensure the organisation maintains a strong and secure IT environment.

You will work closely with senior leadership to strengthen governance, drive best practice and ensure all regulatory and security standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance on IT compliance, data governance and security policies

• Maintain and improve controls and procedures to meet ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials and related standards

• Act as the main point of contact for client audits and security reviews

• Identify and remediate control gaps across IT systems and processes

• Produce clear compliance reporting to support decision making

• Deliver security awareness training and compliance initiatives

• Support responses to client tenders and AI policy queries

• Manage business continuity planning and portfolio compliance activities

About you

• Degree educated or equivalent certification, with 2–3 years’ experience in IT compliance, security or governance

• Knowledge of ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus, with hands-on implementation experience

• Strong documentation and process mapping skills (e.g., Visio)

• Confident communicator with technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Broad IT knowledge including operating systems, networking, security and enterprise applications
