Qualifications

  • J.D. degree or equivalent
  • Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location)
  • 5+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience
  • Experience with product, privacy, or regulatory counseling related to global privacy and / or AI-related laws, regulations, and industry guidelines
  • Knowledge of global privacy laws, regulations, privacy programs and industry guidelines
  • Articulate and analytical legal professional, who is diligent, proactive, collaborative, and who has demonstrated sound legal and business judgment and strategic thinking
  • Experience working on multiple projects in a deadline-focussed environment, delivering practical advice under pressure
  • Experience communicating legal advice to clients at varying levels
  • Experience taking on projects involving different subject matters, and working with cross-functional organizations to drive alignment
  • Meta participates in the E-Verify program in certain locations, as required by law

Full Description

Meta seeks a technology enthusiast to serve as Privacy Counsel for our AI initiatives, with a particular focus on generative AI.

This role will advise AI product legal and privacy teams on privacy legal and regulatory issues, which will require application of complex and evolving legal frameworks to a new and innovative space.

This is a great opportunity to work on novel issues in an exciting, deadline-focused environment, as we build and scale our global community.

This is a full-time position.

Lead Counsel, Privacy (AI) Responsibilities:

• Serve as a global privacy legal partner for Meta Superintelligence Labs initiatives

• Manage frequent, time-sensitive privacy legal escalations, and lead consensus building across legal partners globally

• Enable generative AI product launches by providing practical legal risk mitigation strategies across multiple jurisdictions

• Assist with regulatory engagements, including inquiries and investigations related to AI

Minimum Qualifications:

• J.D. degree or equivalent

• Experience managing regulatory inquiries and investigations

• Prior in-house experience at a technology company

• Knowledge of AI and Machine Learning technologies
