Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and experience teaching, or equivalent practical experience in Cybersecurity using a variety of technologies and tools
- Communication and presentation skills
- Course Design (can design a well-structured syllabus and select appropriate course materials)
- Continuous Learning and Adaptability (commitment to staying update with latest techniques and developments)
- Working in the State of California is a condition of employment
- A master's degree in a related field and/or equivalent industry experience
- Experience teaching, either as a course instructor or teaching assistant, especially in topics related to Cybersecurity or mentoring students/employees in topics related to tools and technologies used in Cybersecurity
- Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving a diverse campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service

About the position
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for the Bachelor of Cybersecurity program to teach CYBR 472: Artificial Intelligence for Cybersecurity.
This 16-week course will be taught online-synchronously, from 1/20-5/8/26, on Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-6:45pm.
Course Description: Covers a broad introduction to the key ideas of artificial intelligence that are used in the cybersecurity domain.
Introduces the basics of artificial intelligence algorithms, methods, and tools for malware detection, vulnerability detection, and emerging threat detection.
Provides tools and skills to future security professionals to understand artificial intelligence and develop better cybersecurity solutions utilizing state-of-the-art artificial intelligence models.
