Requirements:

• Native or near-native proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin, with familiarity across regional variations

• Strong attention to detail and patience for repetitive linguistic tasks

• Ability to work independently and reliably in a fully remote environment

• Availability with 1-day notice during a 1–2 week scheduled project window

• Professional communication skills and a high level of responsibility

About the role:

We are seeking a Cantonese / Mandarin Language Expert for a short-term, project-based freelance role, fully remote.

The ideal candidate is a native or near-native speaker of Cantonese or Mandarin, with strong linguistic intuition, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of regional variations and dialectal differences, while being fully proficient in Standard Mandarin and/or Standard Cantonese.

Responsibilities:

• Review, verify, and tag transcripts against audio samples

• Ensure transcription accuracy, including wording, punctuation, and language-specific nuances

• Identify and handle dialectal or regional variations appropriately

• Correct and refine transcripts as needed

• Process tens to hundreds of audio samples per project with high accuracy

• Collaborate with Deepdub’s linguistic and AI teams when required
