Data Sourcing Product Manager - Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR)

In this role, you will take ownership of defining, as well as strategically and resourcefully sourcing, the data necessary to develop and enhance our Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) models across various languages. You will collaborate closely with customers, partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of the data required for model development. As the position evolves, your responsibilities will expand to include product management for our ASR offerings and a broader range of speech AI products, encompassing models, features, and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the ASR Product Manager, Data Team, and Model Tester to conduct data research and find ways to iteratively deliver data for new and existing languages and use cases.

• Work closely with enterprise customers, the Go-to-Market Team, and Research Team to understand and translate customer needs into defining the right data for building effective ASR models.

• Build relationships and collaborate closely with enterprise customers to enable them to provide data for model enhancement.

• Partner with the Product Team to develop features across various products and proactively come up with methods to enable the customers to provide data to us compliantly, effectively and effortlessly.

• Work closely with the Data Team to find and/or create data on time, meeting required volume and other data requirements within budget.

• Collaborate with the Data Team to source and train vendors and freelancers for data collection projects.

• Serve as the key spokesperson of our company’s data ethics to educate the market and gain trust on our ethics and practices in ensuring data security.

Qualifications

Experiences

• Bachelor’s Degree or above, preferably in disciplines related to business, linguistics, data, engineering, or AI.

• 2+ years of experience in the technology industry, preferably in AI companies with speech recognition technologies.

Skills

• Good command of written and spoken English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.

• Internationally-minded and presentable to people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

• Resourceful and creative problem solver; resilient and willing to tackle challenging data sourcing projects.

• Quick learner, open to new concepts and technologies, and not afraid of learning new things.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in additional languages.

• Experience in sourcing data for speech recognition, particularly in languages you may not understand, along with reviewing and negotiating data purchasing agreements.

• Experience in or knowledge of the Financial Services Industry.

• Experience in sourcing, recruiting, and training vendors and freelancers.
