This summer internship offers hands-on actuarial experience, supporting pension scheme strategy for leading UK organisations.

Key Criteria

• On track for a 2:1+ degree in Maths, Actuarial Science, or another numerical subject

• A-level Mathematics at grade A (or equivalent)

• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail

• Confident communicator, able to simplify complex data

• Curiosity and motivation to explore an actuarial career

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• Interest in developing skills in Python, SQL, VBA or cloud platforms

About the Opportunity

As an Actuarial Summer Intern, you’ll join a specialist team working with pension scheme trustees and corporate clients.

You’ll support financial risk analysis, actuarial modelling and regulatory reporting, gaining exposure to real client challenges from day one.

With mentorship from experienced actuaries, you’ll build both technical capability and consulting confidence — preparing you for a future career in actuarial advisory.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will contribute to a range of project work such as:

Technical & Analytical

• Assessing defined benefit pension scheme funding positions

• Supporting risk reduction strategies (investment, inflation and longevity)

• Performing member benefit and financial reporting calculations

• Estimating Pension Protection Fund (PPF) levy figures

Client & Project Support

• Managing day-to-day pension operations and deliverables

• Presenting insights to trustees, corporates and internal stakeholders

• Contributing to governance and documentation processes

You may also gain experience in specialist teams including:

• Risk Settlement advisory

• Member options restructuring

• Demographic analysis and forecasting

Training & Development

• Structured actuarial development programme
