Position Overview

The Applications team develops the customer-facing components of Axelera AI’s Voyager SDK, including low-code model deployment, end-to-end pipeline development and application integration and analytics. Customers use these tools to quickly evaluate, prototype and build complete production AI solutions accelerated by Axelera AI devices. The Applications team develops cutting-edge development tools with simple APIs that ensure the solutions deployed by our customers reach the highest levels of performance and accuracy available in the market.

We are seeking skilled and innovative software engineers to help us scale the product to support a wider range of models, pipelines and end-customer use cases. This is a challenging but rewarding role which can cover a variety of tasks such as compiling high-level graphical representations of ML-based pipelines, optimizing memory usage and synchronization on heterogeneous hardware targets and writing low-level implementations of computer vision operators for specialised processing elements.

Key responsibilities:

Typical activities can vary depending on the candidate’s skillset but may include:

• Studying research papers, open-source code repositories and product documentation to deploy new models using the Voyager SDK, and evaluating their performance and accuracy

• Implementing image pre and post processing operators, collaborating with the compiler team to troubleshoot compilation issues, and writing decoders that transform inference tensors to metadata for ease of use by application developers

• Integrating popular industry-standard model frameworks within the SDK to facilitate low-code and no-code deployment of many customer models and datasets

• Defining metadata representations for common types of models (such as bounding boxes and keypoints), creating libraries for evaluating deployed model accuracy on Axelera AI hardware and creating libraries for visually rendering inference results

• Optimizing end-to-end pipeline latency and throughput, root causing any bottlenecks arising on supported hardware platforms, and developing profiling tools to help customers more easily analyse and understand bottlenecks in their own pipelines

• Writing and maintaining comprehensive product documentation and sharing knowledge with team members, promoting best practices and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience in the semiconductor and/or AI industry

• Proven hands-on experience with edge deployment frameworks such as OpenVINO or TensorRT

• Familiarity with model optimisation techniques such as quantization, compression and pruning a plus

• Proficiency in AI application development using Python, with extensive experience in ML libraries such as PyTorch and TensorFlow

• Demonstrated ability to build and deploy end-to-end pipelines with quantized models

• Experience in training models using transfer learning to leverage pre-trained models for new tasks

• Experience with MLIR and ONNXRuntime a plus

• Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to troubleshoot and debug complex multi-dimensional problems

• Proficient Linux skills

• Practical knowledge of agile development using tools such as Jira, Git and GitHub

• Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative startup environment

This role will own our company Looker instance, data pipelines, and automations for business operations. But we're not hiring someone who occasionally uses Copilot or ChatGPT to assist their development. We're hiring someone who treats AI as their primary development tool.

You've spent years learning SQL optimization, pipeline architecture, and data modeling. You know when a dashboard is actually useful vs. just pretty. You understand what stakeholders need before they ask for it.

Your day at NTT DATA

This leadership role, responsible for providing leadership, ideation and metric driven strategic direction for commercialization and go-to-market plans for NTT DATA’s Agentic AI Platform for Insurance industry.

This role also operates as a forward-deployed domain advisor, partnering directly with insurance carriers to deploy transformative AI solutions for core functions like underwriting, claims processing, and customer engagement. This dual-focus role demands a unique blend of industry expertise, commercial strategy, and hands-on engineering capabilities.

Targeted Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy & Execution

• Develop and execute a tailored GTM strategy for the P&C and L&A sectors, identifying key use cases (e.g., automated claims routing, risk assessment automation) and defining targeted value propositions.

• Collaborate with marketing, sales, product, and engineering teams to build differentiating capabilities and revenue-driving initiatives

• Develop compelling, industry-specific collateral, case studies, and demos that resonate with insurance professionals (CIOs, Chief Underwriting Officers, Claims VPs).

• Analyze insurance industry trends and competitive landscapes to ensure our platform maintains a leading edge in functionality and compliance.

Forward Deployed Engineering & Client Advisory (Insurance Domain)

• Collaborate directly with senior client stakeholders (actuaries, claims managers, IT leaders) to understand specific P&C/L&A infrastructure and pain points, architecting bespoke AI solutions.

• Serve as the subject matter expert for defining workflows—underwriting, claims, policy admin, actuarial, billing, customer service, agent engagement, fraud, and compliance.

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex AI solutions within client environments, involving business flow orchestration, AI engine development (fine tuning, advanced models, governance) and integration with core insurance platforms (e.g., policy administration systems, claims management software).

• Act as the primary technical advisor, guiding clients through the complexities of deploying novel AI solutions while navigating compliance and data privacy requirements relevant to the insurance sector.

• Provide actionable, domain-specific feedback to internal Product and Engineering teams to refine the platform roadmap for the insurance vertical.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

Required experience:

• Deep Insurance Domain Expertise: Extensive experience working within the P&C or L&A insurance industries, with a strong understanding of core value chains (underwriting, policy servicing, claims).

• GTM & Commercial Acumen: Proven track record in a GTM, product marketing, or solutions engineering role for a technical product sold into the financial services/insurance sector.

• Strong Technical Background: Proficiency in software engineering principles, including Python, APIs, SQL, and data pipelines. Experience delivering production-ready technical solutions within enterprise environments is essential.

• AI Knowledge: Deep understanding of agentic AI frameworks, Large Language Models (LLMs), and how they can be practically applied to solve insurance business challenges.

• Client-Facing Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust and translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for executive and technical stakeholders alike.

Travel: As needed based on business and customer needs

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The range for this position is 158,000.00 to 294,000.00 CAD annual plus variable bonus. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all Canada locations. Actual compensation will depend on several factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.

This position is eligible for company benefits that will depend on the nature of the role offered. Company benefits may include medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending or health savings account, life, and AD&D insurance, short-and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in retirement savings programs, and additional voluntary or legally required benefits.
