Position Overview
The Creative & AI Lead will serve as a creative leader within the Design and Concept team, providing both artistic direction and technical expertise in leveraging AI-driven creative tools.
As a seasoned creative professional, you will inspire the team, uphold creative excellence, and support the Head of Branding and Creative AI in delivering high-quality outputs across publishing, branding, and digital media.
This role requires a forward-thinking, highly conceptual creative with a strong eye for detail and a passion for integrating AI into design processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
• Creative Leadership & Direction
Partner with the Head of Branding and Creative AI to define and execute the creative vision across publishing, branding, campaigns, and digital media.
Provide hands-on creative guidance to designers, illustrators, and production artists, ensuring the highest standards of quality, originality, and consistency.
Act as a mentor and role model within the team, fostering collaboration, trust, and creative excellence.
• AI-Driven Innovation
Explore, pilot, and implement AI-powered creative tools (e.g., image generation, layout automation, content adaptation) to optimize design workflows.
Train and support the creative team in adopting AI tools responsibly and effectively.
Stay up to date with emerging AI trends in design and publishing to ensure continued innovation and competitive advantage.
• Publishing & Digital Execution
Lead art direction and design for book covers, layouts, social media assets, and marketing collateral with strong conceptual thinking and attention to detail.
Oversee the integration of AI-generated assets with traditional creative processes while maintaining brand integrity and quality standards.
Support pre-press and digital production, ensuring flawless execution across print and digital formats.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with Production, Marketing, and other business teams to translate complex ideas into compelling creative solutions.
Partner with the Head of Branding and Creative AI to ensure smooth workflows, clear timelines, and on-time delivery.
Act as a bridge between conceptual creative vision and technical execution, aligning team output with organizational objectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 7+ years of experience in publishing, branding, or digital media, with at least 2+ years in a senior or lead creative role.
Creative Expertise:
Proven track record in art direction, conceptual development, and execution across both print and digital platforms.
AI Knowledge:
Hands-on experience with AI design tools such as MidJourney, DALL
• E, Stable Diffusion, Adobe Firefly, Runway, and Figma AI, with demonstrated ability to integrate AI into creative workflows.
Leadership:
Strong mentoring and leadership skills, with the ability to guide junior and mid-level designers and earn respect as a trusted creative authority.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and strong understanding of pre-press and digital asset production.
Mindset:
Highly conceptual thinker with exceptional attention to detail, a collaborative approach, and openness to experimentation with emerging technologies.
Education:
Certificate or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field.
