Job Description:

Softaims is looking for a Full-Stack Tech Lead to take full ownership of the engineering function for our flagship AI-powered mental health platform. This is a leadership-first role we're seeking someone who can lead by example, drive end-to-end product delivery, mentor engineers, and shape the technical culture of our team.

You will oversee all aspects of technical execution, from architecture and performance to team processes and best practices. While deep AI/ML knowledge is a plus, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AI-driven products, with the ability to collaborate effectively with AI engineers or data scientists and integrate AI capabilities into the product.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical direction, architecture, and development of the platform, ensuring high code quality and technical excellence.

• Own and deliver product features end-to-end, working across the stack (backend-heavy, preferably Ruby on Rails).

• Drive engineering best practices, including CI/CD, code reviews, testing, performance optimization, and system scalability.

• Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, promoting ownership, accountability, and collaboration.

• Work closely with product, design, and AI teams to translate business and AI-driven insights into production-ready features.

• Ensure system reliability, security, and maintainability while balancing fast-paced delivery.

• Foster a startup mindset: hands-on, fast-moving, and adaptive to change.

Required Skills:

• 7+ years of full-stack software development experience with a strong command of backend systems (Ruby on Rails preferred).

• 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, managing engineers and making architectural decisions.

• Proven ability to lead teams, deliver products, and own the technical roadmap.

• Strong experience working in agile, fast-paced startup environments.

• Solid understanding of AI/ML principles, especially in NLP, predictive modeling, or recommendation systems — able to collaborate effectively with AI teams.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — able to align engineering with business and product goals.

• Deep commitment to building scalable, secure, and user-centric systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in early-stage startups or venture studio environments.

• Familiarity with the mental health/wellness industry and its unique challenges.

• Hands-on experience with conversational AI, chatbots, or virtual assistants.
