Our client, a forward-thinking technology innovation hub, is seeking a highly analytical and ethically-minded AI Ethics & Governance Specialist to join their fully remote team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the development and deployment of artificial intelligence technologies are conducted responsibly, transparently, and in alignment with societal values and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities: Develop and implement AI ethics guidelines, policies, and best practices.

Conduct ethical risk assessments for AI systems and products throughout their lifecycle.

Advise development teams on ethical considerations related to data privacy, bias mitigation, fairness, and transparency in AI.

Monitor emerging AI regulations and standards globally and assess their impact.

Facilitate ethical review boards and provide recommendations on AI deployment.

Develop training materials and deliver workshops on AI ethics and responsible innovation.

Collaborate with legal, compliance, and engineering teams to ensure AI systems meet ethical and governance requirements.

Engage with external stakeholders, researchers, and policymakers on AI ethics discussions.

Investigate and report on ethical incidents or concerns related to AI systems.

Stay current with advancements in AI, machine learning, and related ethical challenges.

Contribute to the company's thought leadership in the field of AI ethics and governance.

Develop frameworks for accountability and explainability in AI systems.

Promote a culture of responsible AI development and deployment within the organization.

Qualifications: Master's or PhD in a relevant field such as Ethics, Philosophy, Computer Science, Law, Public Policy, or a related interdisciplinary area with a focus on AI ethics.

Demonstrated understanding of AI/ML concepts and their ethical implications.

Experience in developing governance frameworks, policies, or guidelines for technology.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify complex ethical issues.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly. Familiarity with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR) and ethical AI frameworks.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team setting.

Experience in conducting ethical impact assessments or bias audits is a significant plus.

Proficiency in research and data analysis.

Strong interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
