Our client, a forward-thinking technology firm at the cutting edge of Artificial Intelligence, is seeking a dedicated AI Ethics & Governance Specialist.

This role is crucial in ensuring that our AI development and deployment processes are aligned with ethical principles, regulatory requirements, and societal values.

The specialist will play a pivotal role in shaping responsible AI practices, mitigating potential risks, and fostering trust with users and stakeholders.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AI technologies, coupled with expertise in ethics, policy, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain ethical guidelines and governance frameworks for AI development and deployment.

Conduct ethical risk assessments for new AI products and features.

Advise AI development teams on ethical considerations, including bias detection and mitigation, fairness, transparency, and accountability.

Stay abreast of evolving AI regulations, industry best practices, and ethical debates globally.

Develop and deliver training programs on AI ethics and responsible AI practices to internal teams.

Collaborate with legal, policy, and engineering teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards.

Monitor AI systems for ethical compliance and investigate any reported ethical concerns.

Contribute to public discourse on AI ethics through white papers, presentations, and thought leadership.

Build and maintain relationships with external ethics bodies, researchers, and policymakers. Ensure that AI systems prioritize human well-being and societal benefit.

Qualifications:

Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Philosophy, Law, Public Policy, or a related discipline with a focus on AI ethics.

Minimum of 5 years of experience working in AI ethics, AI governance, responsible AI, or a closely related field.

Deep understanding of AI technologies, machine learning concepts, and their societal implications. Knowledge of ethical frameworks, regulatory landscapes (e.g., GDPR, AI Act proposals), and industry standards for AI.

Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ethical concepts to diverse audiences.

Experience in developing and implementing policy or governance frameworks.

Ability to work collaboratively across different departments and with external stakeholders.

Experience with hybrid work models and effective remote collaboration tools.

A passion for ensuring AI technologies are developed and used responsibly for the betterment of society.
