Our client, a forward-thinking research institution at the forefront of AI development, is seeking an AI Ethics Researcher to join their multidisciplinary team in Yola, Adamawa, NG .
This role is crucial in ensuring that artificial intelligence technologies are developed and deployed responsibly and ethically.
You will conduct in-depth research into the societal implications of AI, develop frameworks and guidelines for ethical AI practices, and collaborate with technical teams to integrate ethical considerations into AI systems.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mind, a deep understanding of ethical principles, and a passion for shaping the future of technology.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct research on the ethical, social, and legal implications of AI technologies.
Develop and refine ethical frameworks, guidelines, and best practices for AI development and deployment.
Analyze potential biases, fairness issues, and risks associated with AI systems.
Collaborate with AI engineers and data scientists to ensure ethical considerations are embedded in the design and implementation of AI models.
Engage with stakeholders, including policymakers, academics, and the public, on AI ethics issues.
Prepare research reports, white papers, and presentations on AI ethics topics.
Stay current with advancements in AI and emerging ethical challenges.
Contribute to the development of AI governance policies and strategies.
Facilitate discussions and workshops on AI ethics within the organization and broader community. Advise on responsible AI innovation and risk mitigation.
Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Philosophy, Ethics, Law, Computer Science (with a focus on AI ethics), Sociology, or a related field.
Proven research experience in AI ethics, technology ethics, or a related area.
Strong understanding of ethical theories, principles, and frameworks.
Familiarity with AI concepts, machine learning, and data science is highly beneficial.
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
Experience in policy analysis or developing ethical guidelines is a plus.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
This hybrid role involves both remote research and collaboration, with occasional on-site meetings in Yola, Adamawa, NG .
