This role operates on a hybrid model, offering a dynamic work environment that fosters collaboration and independent research.

You will delve into the critical ethical considerations surrounding the development and deployment of artificial intelligence technologies.

Your work will involve analyzing potential biases, fairness issues, accountability frameworks, and societal impacts of AI systems, contributing to the responsible advancement of AI.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background in fields such as computer science, philosophy, law, sociology, or related disciplines, combined with a deep understanding of AI principles.

You will be expected to conduct in-depth research, publish findings, and collaborate with engineers, product managers, and policy makers to translate ethical guidelines into practical implementations.

This role requires exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, the ability to engage with complex theoretical concepts, and strong communication abilities to articulate nuanced ethical arguments.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct research on emerging ethical issues in AI, including bias, fairness, transparency, accountability, and privacy.

Develop frameworks, guidelines, and best practices for ethical AI development and deployment.

Analyze the societal impact of AI technologies and propose mitigation strategies.

Collaborate with AI development teams to integrate ethical considerations into the design and implementation process.

Engage with external stakeholders, including academics, policymakers, and industry experts, to foster dialogue on AI ethics.

Publish research findings in academic journals, conferences, and industry reports.

Develop training materials and conduct workshops on AI ethics for internal teams.

Stay abreast of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards related to AI.

Contribute to the company's thought leadership in the field of AI ethics.

Advise on policy development and risk assessment related to AI systems.

Facilitate ethical reviews of AI projects and products.

Promote a culture of responsible innovation within the organization.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Philosophy, Law, Sociology, Ethics, or a related interdisciplinary field with a focus on AI ethics.

Demonstrated research experience in AI ethics, fairness, accountability, transparency, or related areas.

Strong understanding of AI concepts, machine learning algorithms, and their applications.

Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Proven ability to conduct independent research and publish scholarly work.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ethical concepts clearly.

Experience working in a hybrid or cross-functional team environment.

Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks impacting AI is a plus.
