Our client, a leader in AI research and development, is seeking a highly qualified AI Ethics Specialist to join their innovative team in Benin City, Edo, NG .

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, blending on-site collaboration with the flexibility of remote work.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of artificial intelligence technologies, ethical frameworks, and societal implications of AI.

You will be responsible for ensuring that our AI systems are developed and deployed responsibly, ethically, and in alignment with human values and regulatory guidelines.

This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential ethical risks.

Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and refine ethical guidelines and frameworks for AI development and deployment.

Conduct ethical risk assessments of AI models and systems, identifying potential biases, fairness issues, and privacy concerns.

Collaborate with AI researchers, engineers, data scientists, and product managers to integrate ethical considerations throughout the AI lifecycle.

Provide expert advice and guidance on AI ethics to internal teams and stakeholders.

Stay abreast of emerging trends, research, and regulations in AI ethics and responsible AI.

Develop training materials and conduct workshops on AI ethics for employees.

Contribute to the creation of transparent and accountable AI systems.

Monitor AI systems for ethical compliance and address any emerging issues.

Engage with external stakeholders, including policymakers, academics, and civil society organizations, on AI ethics topics.

Document ethical review processes and outcomes.

Advise on data privacy and security measures in AI systems.

Assist in the development of AI governance policies.

Promote a culture of ethical awareness and responsible innovation within the organization.

Research and analyze the societal impact of AI technologies.

Contribute to the responsible design of AI algorithms, focusing on fairness, accountability, and transparency (FAT).

Evaluate AI use cases for ethical viability and potential risks.

Support the development of ethical AI testing methodologies.

Qualifications: Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Ethics, Philosophy, Law, Computer Science, Sociology, or a related field with a focus on AI ethics or responsible technology.

Minimum of 5 years of experience working with AI technologies or in a related field with a significant focus on ethical implications.

Deep understanding of AI concepts, machine learning, data science, and their ethical challenges (e.g., bias, fairness, privacy, transparency, accountability).

Knowledge of relevant ethical theories, frameworks, and principles.

Familiarity with AI regulations and policy landscapes.

Excellent analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.

Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.

Experience in developing policies, guidelines, or training programs related to ethics or responsible technology.

Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing complex issues.

Passion for advancing ethical AI development and deployment.

Experience in risk assessment or compliance is a plus.
