Our client is at the forefront of AI innovation and is seeking a brilliant AI Research Scientist specializing in Computer Vision to join their dynamic team in Calabar, Cross River, NG .
This hybrid role offers the opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research and development in areas such as image recognition, object detection, semantic segmentation, and generative models.
You will be instrumentalin designing, implementing, and evaluating novel algorithms and systems that push the boundaries of artificial intelligence. The ideal candidate possesses a strong theoretical foundation in machine learning and deep learning, coupled with practical experience in deploying AI models in real-world applications.
Responsibilities: Conduct original research in computer vision and deep learning, identifying new research directions and opportunities.
Develop and implement state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms and models.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers and product managers, to translate research findings into practical solutions.
Design and execute experiments to evaluate model performance and identify areas for improvement.
Publish research findings in top-tier academic conferences and journals.
Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and computer vision.
Mentor junior researchers and engineers.
Contribute to the company's intellectual property through patents and publications.
Work on diverse datasets and contribute to the development of robust and scalable AI systems.
Qualifications: Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a strong focus on computer vision and machine learning. Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying deep learning models for computer vision tasks (e.g., CNNs, Transformers). Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Strong understanding of mathematical concepts underlying machine learning algorithms.
Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced research environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
Familiarity with data augmentation techniques and handling large-scale datasets.
