Our client, a leading innovator in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join their state-of-the-art facility.

This role is central to enhancing production efficiency, quality, and safety through the implementation and maintenance of advanced automated systems.

You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of automation projects, from conceptualization and design toimplementation, testing, and ongoing support.

This position requires a deep understanding of industrial automation technologies, including PLC programming, HMI development, robotic integration, and SCADA systems.

Key responsibilities include:

Designing, developing, and commissioning automated control systems for manufacturing processes. Programming and troubleshooting PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell) and HMIs for various equipment. Integrating industrial robots (e.g., KUKA, FANUC) into production lines, ensuring seamless operation and safety.

Developing and maintaining SCADA systems for process monitoring and data acquisition.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and production staff, to define automation requirements.

Performing root cause analysis on equipment failures and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Developing and executing test plans for new automation systems and modifications.

Providing technical training and support to maintenance and operations personnel.

Staying current with emerging automation technologies and industry best practices.

Ensuring automation systems comply with safety standards and regulations.

Managing external vendors and contractors involved in automation projects.

Optimizing existing automated processes for improved performance and reduced downtime.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a specialization in automation.

A minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, including PLC/HMI programming and robot integration, is essential.

Experience with a variety of automation platforms and software is highly desirable.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are crucial.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required for effective collaboration within our manufacturing hub in Owerri, Imo, NG.
