Our client, a rapidly expanding software development company, is looking for a highly skilled and innovative Lead AI Engineer specializing in Machine Learning to join their team in Owerri, Imo, NG.

This role is central to developing cutting-edge AI solutions that drive product innovation and enhance customer experiences.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, deep learning frameworks, and experience in leading technical projects from conception to deployment.

This hybrid position offers a blend of collaborative in-office work and focused remote development.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and implement advanced machine learning models and algorithms for various applications.

Lead the AI/ML engineering team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and project oversight.

Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to integrate AI capabilities into existing and new products.

Develop and maintain scalable ML pipelines for data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and deployment.

Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and deep learning research and apply them to solve business problems.

Optimize model performance, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and robustness.

Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code in Python or other relevant programming languages.

Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap for AI initiatives within the company.

Evaluate and select appropriate tools, technologies, and frameworks for AI development. Troubleshoot and debug ML models and systems in production environments.

Qualifications:

Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior role.

Proven experience in developing and deploying production-level machine learning models. Strong expertise in ML algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, deep learning) and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, scikit-learn). Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps practices.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mindset.

Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts. Familiarity with software development best practices (e.g., version control, CI/CD).
