Our client, a pioneering technology firm at the forefront of artificial intelligence research and development, is seeking a visionary Lead AI Ethicist to shape the responsible and ethical deployment of AI technologies.
This hybrid role, based in Kano, Kano, NG , offers a unique opportunity to influence the direction of cutting-edge AI solutions.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust ethical frameworks, guidelines, and best practices to ensure AI systems are developed and used in a fair, transparent, and unbiased manner.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of AI technologies, ethics, philosophy, law, and social implications, combined with exceptional analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and champion ethical AI principles and frameworks across the organization.
Conduct ethical risk assessments for AI projects and provide guidance on mitigation strategies.
Collaborate closely with AI researchers, engineers, product managers, and legal teams to integrate ethical considerations into the AI development lifecycle.
Develop policies and procedures related to AI fairness, accountability, transparency, and safety.
Stay abreast of evolving AI ethics regulations, industry standards, and academic research globally.
Provide training and education to internal teams on AI ethics and responsible innovation.
Engage with external stakeholders, including policymakers, academics, and civil society organizations, on AI ethics matters.
Advise on the ethical implications of data usage, algorithmic bias, and AI decision-making.
Contribute to the development of internal tools and processes for ethical AI evaluation.
Promote a culture of ethical awareness and responsible AI development within the company.
Serve as a thought leader in the field of AI ethics, publishing research and speaking at conferences.
Qualifications: Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Ethics, Philosophy, Computer Science, Law, Sociology, or a related field with a specialization in technology ethics or AI ethics.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in ethics, policy, or responsible innovation, with a significant focus on artificial intelligence.
Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts, their capabilities, and potential societal impacts.
Strong knowledge of ethical theories, frameworks, and best practices.
Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory landscapes concerning AI.
Excellent analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence diverse audiences.
Experience in developing and implementing organizational policies and guidelines.
Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment and manage complex projects.
Demonstrated passion for ensuring AI is developed and used for the benefit of humanity.
