Our client is at the forefront of AI innovation and is seeking an exceptional Lead AI Ethicist & Governance Specialist to establish and champion ethical AI practices across the organization.

This fully remote role is critical in shaping the responsible development and deployment of artificial intelligence technologies.

You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing comprehensive AI ethics policies, guidelines, and frameworks.

This includes conducting thorough ethical risk assessments for AI systems, identifying potential biases, fairness issues, and societal impacts.

You will collaborate closely with AI researchers, data scientists, engineers, product managers, and legal teams to integrate ethical considerations throughout the AI lifecycle, from data sourcing and model training to deployment and monitoring.

A key aspect of this role involves staying abreast of evolving AI regulations, industry best practices, and emerging ethical challenges globally.

You will lead training and awareness programs to foster a culture of responsible AI within the company.

Developing clear communication strategies to articulate complex ethical concepts to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and external stakeholders, will be essential.

The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of technical understanding, philosophical rigor, and practical application, with a demonstrated passion for advancing AI for good.

Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain AI ethics policies, principles, and governance frameworks.

Conduct ethical impact assessments and bias audits for AI systems and models.

Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and product teams to embed ethical considerations into AI development processes.

Advise on the ethical implications of data collection, usage, and privacy in AI.

Stay current with global AI regulations, ethical standards, and industry best practices.

Develop and deliver AI ethics training and awareness programs for employees at all levels.

Serve as the primary point of contact for AI ethics-related inquiries and concerns.

Facilitate cross-functional discussions to address complex ethical dilemmas in AI.

Contribute to external publications, industry forums, and partnerships related to AI ethics.

Monitor the ethical performance of deployed AI systems and recommend corrective actions.

Qualifications: Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Ethics, Philosophy, Law, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on AI ethics.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, technology policy, or a related domain.

Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts, methodologies, and potential ethical risks (bias, fairness, transparency, accountability).

Proven experience developing and implementing ethical frameworks or governance structures.

Familiarity with relevant AI regulations and legal landscapes (e.g., GDPR, AI Act).

Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex ethical issues clearly.

Experience working in a technology-driven environment, ideally with AI/ML teams.

Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
