Our client, a cutting-edge technology firm at the forefront of artificial intelligence innovation, is seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Principal AI Research Scientist to join their world-class, fully remote research team.

Responsibilities:

Lead fundamental and applied research in areas such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or other relevant AI domains.

Develop novel algorithms, models, and methodologies to solve complex AI challenges.

Design and conduct experiments to validate research hypotheses and assess model performance.

Publish research findings in top-tier AI conferences and journals.

Collaborate with engineering teams to transition research prototypes into production systems.

Mentor and guide junior researchers and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and scientific rigor.

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and machine learning research globally.

Contribute to the strategic direction of the company's AI research roadmap.

Present research findings and technical strategies to executive leadership and external audiences. Develop and maintain strong collaborations with academic institutions and industry partners.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.

Minimum of 10 years of post-doctoral research experience in AI/ML, with a proven track record of significant contributions and publications.

Deep expertise in one or more core AI/ML areas (e.g., deep neural networks, probabilistic graphical models, NLP, computer vision, reinforcement learning).

Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI research, such as Python, and libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.

Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed computing environments.

Strong mathematical and statistical foundation.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and leadership abilities.

Demonstrated ability to lead research projects and mentor teams in a remote setting.

Experience in contributing to or leading research grants or projects is a plus.
