Our client is at the forefront of AI innovation and is seeking a brilliant Senior AI Ethics Researcher to join their groundbreaking team.

This role is pivotal in ensuring that our advanced AI systems are developed and deployed responsibly, ethically, and with a profound understanding of their societal impact.

You will be responsible for conducting in-depth research into the ethical implications ofartificial intelligence, including issues of bias, fairness, transparency, accountability, and privacy.

This involves staying abreast of the latest academic research, industry best practices, and evolving regulatory landscapes worldwide.

You will develop frameworks, guidelines, and best practices for ethical AI development and deployment, working collaboratively with engineering, product management, and legal teams to integrate these principles into the entire AI lifecycle.

Your work will involve identifying potential ethical risks associated with new AI technologies and proposing mitigation strategies.

You will also contribute to the development of educational materials and training programs for internal stakeholders and potentially external audiences.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong academic background in computer science, philosophy, law, social sciences, or a related field, with a specialization in AI ethics.

Proven experience in researching AI ethics, conducting ethical impact assessments, and developing ethical AI policies is essential.

You should have excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to communicate complex ethical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience with machine learning concepts and an understanding of AI systems are highly beneficial.

This role requires a self-starter who can thrive in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment.

While this position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for collaboration with the team on-site, it also provides flexibility for remote work.

Responsibilities: Conduct rigorous research on ethical challenges in AI, including fairness, bias, transparency, and accountability.

Develop and implement ethical guidelines, frameworks, and policies for AI development and deployment.

Collaborate with AI engineers, data scientists, product managers, and legal counsel to embed ethical considerations into AI systems.

Perform ethical impact assessments for new AI technologies and applications.

Identify and propose solutions for mitigating ethical risks in AI.

Stay current with academic literature, industry trends, and regulatory developments in AI ethics.

Contribute to the development of educational materials and training programs on AI ethics.

Publish research findings in reputable conferences and journals.

Advise on ethical best practices for data collection, model training, and AI system deployment. Foster a culture of responsible AI innovation within the organization.

Qualifications: Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Philosophy, Law, Ethics, Social Sciences, or a related field with a focus on AI ethics.

Minimum of 4 years of research experience in AI ethics or responsible AI.

Deep understanding of machine learning principles and AI systems.

Proven ability to conduct independent research and publish findings.

Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ethical concepts.

Experience in developing ethical frameworks and policies.

Familiarity with AI fairness toolkits and evaluation metrics.

Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, collaborating with on-site and remote teams.
