This role, based in Ibadan, Oyo, NG , offers a hybrid work model, fostering collaboration and flexibility.

You will be instrumental in pushing the boundaries of visual perception through AI, developing novel algorithms and models for image recognition, object detection, semantic segmentation, and other advanced computer vision tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct state-of-the-art research in computer vision, exploring new architectures, techniques, and methodologies.

Design and execute rigorous experiments to validate research hypotheses and measure performance.

Analyze large-scale image and video datasets, extracting insights and identifying patterns.

Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate research prototypes into production systems.

Publish research findings in top-tier AI and computer vision conferences and journals.

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and computer vision.

Mentor junior researchers and contribute to a culture of innovation and scientific rigor.

Contribute to patent applications and intellectual property development.

Present research results to both technical and non-technical audiences. Participate in grant writing and proposal development for research projects.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related field with a specialization in Computer Vision.

A minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience in computer vision.

Demonstrated track record of impactful research, evidenced by publications in leading conferences (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV) and journals.

Expertise in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.

Strong proficiency in Python and relevant scientific computing libraries (NumPy, SciPy, OpenCV).

In-depth understanding of classical and deep learning-based computer vision algorithms.

Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed computing environments.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.

Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
