Data Center Operations Manager

Position Overview

We are looking for a Data Center Operations Manager to oversee and manage the company’s global data center infrastructure. This role involves coordinating all data center resources, ensuring operational efficiency, and leading data center-related projects to support AI computing and HPC workloads. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background in data center operations, infrastructure management, and project execution, along with solid English communication skills and a willingness to travel globally.

Key Responsibilities

Data Center Management & Operations

• Oversee the company’s global data center resources, ensuring optimal utilization, performance, and scalability.

• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for data center maintenance, security, and efficiency.

• Manage power, cooling, network infrastructure, and hardware deployment to ensure reliable operations for AI computing workloads.

• Monitor server performance, hardware health, and energy consumption, proactively resolving infrastructure issues.

Project Execution & Expansion

• Lead data center expansion, migration, and upgrade projects, working closely with vendors and internal teams.

• Assess new data center locations, ensuring compliance with business, security, and environmental requirements.

• Optimize server and storage deployments to support large-scale GPU workloads for AI model training.

Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

• Work with data center providers, hardware vendors, and cloud service partners to ensure seamless infrastructure support.

• Manage hardware procurement, installation, and maintenance contracts, negotiating terms and ensuring cost efficiency.

• Coordinate with internal IT, DevOps, and AI teams to align data center infrastructure with business objectives.

Security, Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA).

• Implement and enforce access control policies, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.

• Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to maintain high availability and security of data center operations.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in:

• Information Technology / Computer Science

• Electrical Engineering / Data Center Management

• Network & Infrastructure Engineering

Technical Expertise

• 5+ years of experience in data center operations, infrastructure management, or cloud computing.

• Knowledge of server hardware (GPU clusters, high-performance computing, enterprise storage solutions).

• Understanding of networking (switches, firewalls, fiber optics, BGP, SDN) and power/cooling management.

• Experience with data center monitoring tools (DCIM, SNMP, Zabbix, Prometheus, etc.).

• Familiarity with cloud and hybrid infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, on-prem data centers).

Soft Skills & Travel Requirements

• Proficient in English (spoken and written) for communication with global teams and vendors.

• Strong project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple data center projects.

• Willingness to travel internationally for data center setup, audits, and vendor meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in AI/HPC environments or managing large-scale GPU clusters.

• Certifications such as CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional), CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), or ITIL.

• Previous experience with global data center expansions and site selection.
